Pathogenicity, host range and temperature tolerance of Crypticola clavulifera (Oomycetes: Lagenidiales) in the laboratory.

چکیده
The Oomycete fungus Crypticola clavulifera was pathogenic for laboratory-reared and field-collected larval Diptera, including the mosquitoes Aedes aegypti, Ae. notoscriptus, Anopheles farauti No. 1 and 3, Culex annulirostris, Cx. quinquefasciatus and the chironomid midge Chironomus tepperi. Zoospores were produced in water held at 15, 20 and 25 degrees C and were pathogenic for Ae. aegypti larvae, but at 30 and 35 degrees C zoospores were not produced.

Vegetative compatibility, host range and pathogenicity of Verticillium dahliae isolates in Iran
Verticillium wilt is an economically important disease which inflicts serious losses in potato, cotton, alfalfa, some vegetable crops and fruit trees and occasionally ornamentals. Verticillium dahliae, infected cultivated species and weeds were collected from several areas in Iran during tewelve years from 1993-2005 and studied for their vegetative compatibility, host range and pathogenecity. T...
متن کاملSome aspects of biology and host range of Biscogniauxia mediterranea, one of the causal agent of oak charcoal disease
Field surveys in Zagros forests located in western Iran were done to study some aspects of biology and host range of Biscogniauxia mediterranea during 2014-2016. The ability of its conidia and ascospores to cause the disease was evaluated under greenhouse condition. Ascospore viability and development of anamorph and teleomorph were surveyed under different conditions. The pathogen host range w...
متن کاملLaboratory evaluation of Lagenidium giganteum (Oomycetes: Lagenidiales) in water from Contra Costa County, California, mosquito sources.
Six bioassays were performed to evaluate the efficacy of the fungus, Lagenidium giganteum, against mosquitoes in water collected from 75 sources. The fungus infected larvae of 4 genera and produced greater than 90% mortality in water from some of the creeks, artificial containers and the wild rice field tested during 4 of the assays. There was no larval mortality due to the fungus in water from...
متن کاملDo colonization by dark septate endophytes and elevated temperature affect pathogenicity of oomycetes?
Phialocephala subalpina is one of the most frequent dark septate root endophytes in tree roots but its function in forest ecosystems is largely unknown. A full-factorial infection experiment was performed, using six P. subalpina isolates, two pathogenic oomycetes (Phytophthora plurivora [syn. Phytophthora citricola s.l.] and Elongisporangium undulatum [syn. Pythium undulatum]) and two temperatu...
متن کاملVegetative compatibility and rep-PCR DNA fingerprinting groups of Fusarium solani isolates obtained from different hosts and their pathogenicity
Fusarium solain is the most important pathogen of huge range of plant hosts, especially potato in the word, which causes tuber rot in storage and root rot of potato plants in fields. Fifty four isolates from potato, bean, chickpea and cucurbit (melon, watermelon and cucumber) was subjected in a study through analysis of vegetative compatibility groups (VCGs) and rep-PCR DNA fingerprinting. Nit ...
